Bad Habits

I just got back yesterday from another amazing SBL weekend in Madison, and I couldn’t be happier. It was great! Better than great, it was amazing! Not only because of the music and of meeting again with old friends, but also because of the news one I met.

Coming back was the hardest part. Saying ‘goodbye’ is too hard, so we just say ‘see you soon’ and pray that ‘soon’ won’t take too long.

Then on my way back home from the airport I started listening to Johnson‘s album Bad Habits and I just couldn’t stop smiling. Anyway, here’s one of my favorites. But I do recommend you go check out his website and full album–you can get it from either Amazon or iTunes, although Amazon is cheaper.

Enjoy!

I’m back!

I’m back! I know, I know, I’ve been absent for a while, but I did have a reason. Or maybe it was just an excuse, but in any case it was something that kept me really busy and didn’t exactly leave me with a lot of time to come here. But now I’m back. I know I’ll have more time to write, so expect a few posts about writing and a few reviews of some of the books I’ve been reading. And if you know of a good book on the craft of writing and you want to share with me, please, feel free to send me your ideas. I’ll read the book and talk about it here.

Right now let’s just celebrate with a little music. And what better to say “I’m back” than a video with movie villains? So here’s a Movie Villain Medley by Jon Cozart. Yes, the same Jon Cozart I talked about here and here.

If you want to follow the villains and songs used in the video, they are:

0:03 The Joker from The Dark Knight (Poker Face)
0:32 Darth Vader from Star Wars (Bad Romance)
1:01 Hans Landa from Inglourious Basterds (Paparazzi)
1:38 Fox from Wanted (Just Dance)

Have a great Monday!

Harry Potter in 99 seconds

Another video by Jon Cozart, but this time he’s singing about Harry Potter. And no, I don’t know the kid. Just happened to see one of his videos and thought I’d share them with you.

The best thing in this video, in my opinion, is the way he ends the song. I’ve read all the books and I’ve seen all the movies, but I do know of people who have yet to read and/or watch them (I know, it comes as a shock to me, too).

Here’s what happened after all their dreams came true

Just saw this today and couldn’t resist. I had to post it.

This video, made by the talented Jon Cozart, went viral, with almost 8 million views already. Whether or not you agree with the political views expressed in the song, it’s hard not to be impressed by what he’s doing.

Warning: Not for children! At least not for little ones. After all, he starts by saying, “If you’ve ever wondered why Disney’s tales all end in lies, here’s what happened after all their dreams came true.”

Christmas is just around the corner

And what is Christmas with a bit of music?

Remember when I talked about The Doo Wop Shop? Well, here’s another one of their videos.

Enjoy!

Polka Dot Afro Circus

Guess what movie I saw today?

And I saw it in 3D! Never thought I’d be so excited to see a movie in 3D. Totally worth it!

Now I can’t stop singing the Afro circus song.

Addictive, right?

But since our favorite castaways are now in Europe, how about the multilingual song?

Seriously, I can’t stop singing it.

The Doo Wop Shop – for Disney fans of all ages.

About a year ago (almost to the day, it was May 25, 2011) I saw a video of The Doo Wop Shop singing a Disney medley. The video I saw was their 2010 performance and it made me smile. Now, while looking for the video I found out they recorded a studio version and then the 2011 Holiday Concert version (which is the one in this post).

P.S.: The Doo Wop Shop  (a.k.a. “The Shop”) is UMASS’ only all male A Capella group.
